a sanctuary in the city

Our mission at Kindness Café is simple: to provide a warm, welcoming, and inclusive space for everyone and anyone – friends, students, neighbours, and people passing by – to come together and connect over a warming drink and a slice of cake.

Stay for as long as you like, enjoy the peace and quiet of the centre, or sit outside (weather permitting) and take in the atmosphere our lovely courtyard.

We care deeply about our impact on the environment, and about the ethical impact of the choices we make. That’s why our entire menu offering is plant-based. We use powdered oat milk in all our drinks (powdered means less water and packaging), and source most of our baking ingredients from a zero-waste supplier. Our coffee comes from Old Spike, a social impact roastery who dedicate 65% of their profits to training, employ- ment, and support for Londoners experiencing homelessness; and we get our black tea from Spill, who pay their farmers around 40% above the average market price. So you can feel even better about your cuppa and your cake.
