On the counter at Kindness Café you'll find a simple glass jar filled with marbles.

Each marble represents a hot drink that has already been paid for by someone who wanted to do something kind for a stranger.

If you're feeling stretched and in need of a warm drink, you're welcome to take a marble from the jar and exchange it for a hot drink of your choice. No explanation needed.

And if you'd like to add a little kindness to the jar, you can pay for a drink for someone you'll probably never meet. We'll add a marble to the jar and pass the kindness on.

It's a small thing, but we love the spirit behind it: neighbours looking after neighbours, often without knowing one another's names.
